How to Cancel Your ADT Service Plan
There are two different ways to cancel your ADT Service Plan:

While it may seem tempting to just call the number, they’re likely to send you on a wild goose chase through this method. Your contract is legally binding, however, so you can more reliably cancel through the method stated there.

How to Avoid the ADT Early Termination Penalty
If you opted for ADT’s No Contract Security System, then you won’t have to worry about any termination penalties.
If you signed a contract with ADT, however, you’ll need to force ADT to terminate the contract themselves through their 6-month Service Guarantee policy.
This requires you to prove that ADT couldn’t resolve any installation or service-related concern that you had. Which is, of course, easier said than done. But if you do succeed in this endeavor, you’ll not only be free of any termination charges, but you’ll also receive a full refund.

Note: If you bought your system or device from a retail location (authorized retailer), you’ll need to adhere to their specific return policy.
2. What is the warranty on your equipment?
Every purchased Self Setup system or device comes with a 12-month limited warranty.
3. If my ADT account is canceled, do I need to send back my ADT equipment?
Yes, you’ll have to reach out to their Support Center at (877) 464-7437 within seven (7) days of termination to initiate the return process.
Systems or devices received within the initial 30 days from the original order date must be returned within 21 days of receiving the RMA label to avoid Non-Returned Equipment Fees.
4. Does ADT provide boxes for returning equipment?
ADT does not provide boxes for return shipments. Please use the original packaging whenever possible. If unavailable, use another appropriately sized carton. The equipment must be returned in good working order, with normal wear and tear accepted.
5. How long does it take to receive a refund?
After the equipment reaches the return facility, allow 10-14 days for inspection and processing. Once processed, a refund will be issued using the original payment method. Original shipping charges will not be refunded after shipment, but a return label will be provided.
6. Can I return an item directly to ADT?
ADT does not have drop-off locations for returned equipment. An RMA label will be provided to ship the return to ADT via FedEx.
