How to Use Afterpay on Amazon

Can’t find Amazon in the Afterpay App? Or maybe Amazon is telling you to update your payment information hours after it has approved the transaction?

How to Use Afterpay Single-Use Payment on Amazon

This method allows you to use Afterpay as a payment method in Amazon using the Single-Use Payment feature. To use Afterpay as a payment method in Amazon, just follow these steps:

1. Open the Afterpay App 
2. Tap on Amazon in the Shop tab
3. Shop on the Amazon Store
4. Go to Amazon Checkout
5. Confirm your Contact and Shipping Details 
6. Select Add a Payment Method
7. Select Add a Credit or Debit Card
8. DO NOT set it as the Default Payment Method*
9. Tap on Buy Now, Pay Later
10. Enter the Purchase Amount (including shipping and taxes)
11. Confirm your Payment Schedule
12. The Single-Use Payment details will be auto-filled into the credit/debit card section
13. Save the Payment Method and Place Your Order
14. Choose the Earliest Delivery Date Available
15. Avoid bundling Orders with Different Delivery Dates
16. Check your Order in your Afterpay Orders tab
17. Remove the Saved Payment Method once your order has been processed*

💡 Note: Amazon tends to save your payment method and then use it for your succeeding purchases. This is problematic for Afterpay’s Single-Use Payment since it’s only valid for a single use.

How to Resolve the ‘Payment Revision Needed’ Error on Amazon

Afterpay’s Single-Use Payment has an expiration date. This is why you want to choose the earliest delivery date available because Amazon only charges you just before it ships your order.

This means that the Single-Use Payment can expire before Amazon charges you, causing the dreaded ‘Payment Revision Needed’ error.

In addition, make sure you avoid bundling orders with different delivery dates or bundling orders altogether to avoid the Single-Use Payment from expiring before being charged for all of your orders.

How to Use Afterpay to Purchase Amazon Giftcards

If you saw the long list of steps and caveats when using Afterpay’s Single-Use Method on Amazon and thought, “No way I’m doing all that,” then this method might be for you.

You can simply check Afterpay’s Gift Card tab for Amazon Gift Cards and purchase that instead. 

Unfortunately, this method isn’t available for everyone since Afterpay only makes specific Gift Cards available to those it deems credit-worthy enough.

💡 Note: When purchasing a gift card, 25% of the order value will be debited at the time of purchase. E-gift cards from Afterpay are non-refundable and cannot be canceled.

How to Use Afterpay on Amazon Reload

If you’re one of the unlucky ones who can’t purchase Amazon Gift Cards on Afterpay, worry not, you can still use Afterpay on Amazon Reload as long as you have the Afterpay Card.

To reload your Amazon Gift Card Balance using Afterpay, just follow these steps:

1. Go to Amazon Reload 
2. Click Reload Your Balance
3. Use the Afterpay Card as the payment method
